Investiture ceremony for ICG

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh awarded gallantry and meritorious service medals to the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel at an impressive investiture ceremony held at Indian Coast Guard Air Station Chennai. Rajnath Singh inspected the ceremonial guard prior to awarding the medals. A total of 61 awards which included 01 PTM (Gallantry), 08 PTM (Distinguished Service), 32 TM (Gallantry) and 20 TM (Meritorious Service) were conferred.

The award not only serves as a well-deserved recognition for the acts of bravery, valour and selfless devotion of the personnel in extreme conditions, but also serve as morale booster and motivation to the service for maintaining safety and security of nation’s vast maritime frontiers.

With the ever increasing challenges of safety and security near the oceans, this fine service has been living up to the expectations of the country. The very fact, that there were considerably large number of awardees for prestigious medals, proves the valour and dedication.
