The convener of the conference, Raj Singh Niranjan, who is also an energy law expert and the managing partner of TILA, said that the objective of the conference is to bring about an 'energy revolution' by bringing together all key stakeholders on a single platform. This would allow them all to discuss the existing government's initiatives, policies and innovative ideas and to suggest potential measures for a wholesome implementation of the Indian government's initiative (Urja Kranti) to remove the course of energy poverty in India. Some of the themes on which the delegates deliberated included sovereign fund/lending to the power sector and state regulatory bodies. During the conference, the delegates and energy experts from across the globe resolved to observe April 15th as ‘Right to Energy Day’ every year. Keeping in view the above, the 5th TILA International Conference on Energy 2020 will be convened on April 15 in New Delhi.
