Ranveer lauds Virat Kohli

Actor Ranveer Singh has praised star skipper Virat Kohli, saying he has changed the face of Indian cricket forever.

Ranveer, who made his commentary debut with Star sports alongside cricket stars Sunil Gavaskar and Virender Sehwag for the ICC Cricket World Cup, shared a photograph of himself along with Kohli on social media.

He captioned it, “I have been a die-hard fan of Indian cricket since childhood. Invested so much emotion into our beloved team. Willing and wanting them to be the undisputed best in the world. And then, there was Virat Kohli.”

Ranveer is currently tied up with 83, a film based on India’s historic victory at the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

‘It has been a tough journey for me ever since I was a kid when it comes to my battle with obesity. Everyone has their own struggles. I also have had where I tried to manage.

But the whole point of life is that we fall, we get back up and try again. Efforts will pay off eventually if not today then in a week or in a month or it can even take a year.’

Lakshya clocked 15 years of its release, its lead actor Hrithik Roshan said the film resonated with his phase of self discovery as an actor.

“A beautiful story of self discovery that touched my life in many ways. It gave me a friendship of a decade and half with Farhan (Akhtar) and Ritesh (Sidhwani),” Hrithik said.

Calling it a special film, the actor added, “It blessed me with the overwhelming love from my audience.”

Lakshya is a 2004 romantic war drama film, directed by Farhan Akhtar. It also stars Preity Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan.

Dwayne stands for positivity

Dwayne Johnson didn’t make a household name for himself by conforming to someone else’s idea of who he should be, an approach he encouraged others to take while accepting a top honour at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

The actor said, “Embracing himself allowed him to carve his own space in the entertainment industry and become one of its biggest stars.”

He accepted MTV’s generation award with fanfare — running down the stage amidst a blend of hip-hop and Samoan dancers with screens reading “The Rock” in flaming letters behind him — during the show, which was taped Saturday in Santa Monica, California.
