Swara smitten by SRK’s vanity van

It’s not just actor Shah Rukh Khan’s house, which is a much-talked about affair, but as well his vanity van. And the latest to join the bandwagon and be smitten by King Khan’s personalised vehicle is Veere Di Wedding actress Swara Bhasker.

In the fourth episode Vanity Diaries, Swara divulges secrets of the biggest celebs in B-town.

When asked about who owns the best van in the industry, she unabashedly quips, “Shah Rukh sir for sure. His vanity is huge and extremely beautiful. He is one who is obsessed about watching the news and keeping himself so up-to-date. He is the most fun person to chill with in the van.”

‘It was a tough character (Shriya in Bachna Ae Haseeno) to play. It's always tough for me to play a dark character or a flawed one but that's the challenge. I enjoy it as an actor. The further away it's from my real life and the real me. The character becomes more exciting. Shriya was romantic who becomes a tough woman after getting jilted at the altar. People praised me for it.’

It's Raksha Bandhan, and actress Alia Bhatt took out time to tie a rakhi to filmmaker Karan Johar's son Yash.

While KJo openly mentors Alia and her career, the two have often addressed each other as father and daughter.

On Raksha Bandhan, Alia, ensured she carried out her sisterly ritual by tying a rakhi on Yash's wrist.

Karan, who became a father to twins, Yash and Roohi, through surrogacy in 2017, posted a photograph of Alia and Yash and wrote, “Alia didi!” Last year, too, Alia showed her “big sister love” by celebrating Raksha Bandhan with Yash.

Aretha's doctors recall her grace

Regardless of her reputation as a performer, Aretha Franklin’s cancer doctors say she was no diva as a patient.

As the anniversary of her death approaches, two of her doctors said that the Queen of Soul handled the diagnosis and treatment with grace — and the grit to keep performing for years with a rare type of cancer.

“She was extremely kind, respectful and funny,” said Dr Manisha Shah of Ohio State University.

“There is no phone call that would end without her asking about us. It’s because who she was, a really down-to-earth person, added the Dr.”
