On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, and the 125th year celebration of YMCA, Cuttack, the CMD of NALCO, Dr Tapan Kumar Chand, exclaimed that Das was not only a great patriot and a founder of modern Odisha, but was also a great visionary. “In the beginning of the 20th century, when industrialisation in Odisha was just budding, Madhu babu talked about quality of products of global standard. Today, it is a matter of great pride that NALCO, Odisha’s homegrown company is a company of global repute, producing world class quality of alumina and aluminium. NALCo is also being benchmarked by the global aluminium industries for being the lowest cost and best quality producer in the world. The best tribute to this legend will be that Odisha, which is endowed with natural resources, should become a hub of industries of global standard to usher in an era of sustainable prosperity for the state,” said Dr Chand.
He exhorted the youth to upgrade their knowledge and skills to become the frontrunners in the fourth industrial revolution, which has just ushered in, wherein, Internet of Things (IOT), virtual reality, augmented reality, automation and cloud computing to name a few, will become the order of the day.
