Irrespective of the field of expertise, selecting a good & stable option after graduation may be a puzzle for many. Nitin Vijay tells you how opting for management programmes after engineering is a lucrative solution

Engineering has been the favorite branch for the students since ages. It has been able to maintain the novelty factor even in the age of IT and technology. Engineering has amalgamated itself with the latest developments, and it is the development itself; the inflow of students to this field has been increasing incessantly and attests to the never-fading popularity of this branch of study. The common perception is that ‘once you complete Engineering', there is no dearth of job options for you’, and to an extent it holds true. The need for a well-qualified and talented engineer is required in every sphere of life.

Irrespective of the field of expertise one chooses, selecting a good & stable career after graduation may be a quiet puzzle full for a maximum of them. It is mandatory to go with proper planning and strategy. Those who are comfortable to work with advanced technologies including VLSI, Blockchain, AI, Robotic, Ethical Hacking, Digital Marketing, Protocol Testing, Data Science, Website Designing & Promotion are required in most of the companies.

Presently, the startup industry is setting the latest trend in the competitive market, and one can start the work with two to three people only. The best thing is that the Government is also supporting such an initiative with complete instructions and mentorship. The Government is also supporting by giving financial support in terms of the loan and other benefits. After observing the growth and success ration of various entrepreneurs, the young and dynamic generation also decides to start their venture; this needs a lot of calmness and self-restraint. This option is one of the finest choices for those who are having creative concepts and are willing to invest in their business; this allows an individual the freedom to express their ideas.

If a student is thinking about a stable career option after graduation, then studying management has turned out to be of great help, which not only provides a good but a handsome CTC also. To enter this domain, one will have to pursue a Masters in Business Administration, which is one of the favourable courses. After completing an MBA, one can get managerial roles in different companies. Management is one of the best career options after engineering in India. Pursuing an MBA after engineering has been in trend since the mid-1990s, and it is still taken up by people who are fascinated by the management part of organisations.

Engineers do serve the cause of the nation by contributing to the development of infrastructure and technology. A well-qualified Engineer is sought after by the top multinational companies as well as Indian giants. Serving the nation can sometimes attain a whole new altitude, and Engineers are known to do well in the Civil Services exam to serve the country in policymaking. It is one of the best options; however, preparation for at least one year is recommended. Millions of students appear for this examination each year, and only a few of them crack it. If a student can attain good rank, then he or she can get the distinguished post of IAS, IPS, or IFS, as well. Engineers also have the option to join armed forces.

Those interested in academics can choose to go for higher studies. They can prepare for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE); this test shows the overall know-how of an engineering graduate, and after qualifying, one can join prestigious engineering colleges (IITs and NITs) for MTech. If a student is not willing to clear GATE then he or she can also prepare for Joint Admission Test (JAM) and can enter academics and research.

So, if you are fascinated by ever-evolving structural designs, IT developments, and space, then engineering will help you realise the dream of joining an elite class that is bringing about the much-needed changes to the world making it a better place to live.

The career options are many; the need is to assess your capabilities and take an informed decision. The graduates should never shy away from taking advice from the experts or the experienced people around them. With numerous changes happening in the world, the job market is vibrant, and pay packages have also become better. Initially, the focus of the graduate should be to gain experience without concentrating hard on the remunerations.
