57% of students are getting online classes
Brainly has revealed updated findings to its previously conducted survey to understand how students are responding to the online learning classes that are being offered to them during the ongoing lockdown.
Having surveyed 2089 students in India, it found that as many as 57 per cent of the students are now receiving online classes during this unprecedented break. Of these, 53.7 per cent believe that these classes are very good. Furthermore, 59.4 per cent of the respondents have mentioned that they are being given homework during the break.
While schools are doing everything in their power to ensure the continuous and seamless education of students, 46.9 per cent of them miss their teacher's constant guidance while taking online lessons. Moreover, 46.9 per cent of the students say they are bored at home and 45.4 per cent are spending their extra time with their family.
Speaking on the survey, Michal Borkowski, co-founder-CEO, Brainly, said: “It is heartening to see the endeavours of the entire education industry to embrace technology and offer high-quality education to students. On our part, we are offering assistance to students looking for information or help with their study and homework problems. A lot of students and parents are turning to platforms like Brainly with a view to #CarryOnLearning, and we consider this our contribution to the global education space during this challenging situation.”
Since its launch in India, Brainly has proved its mettle as one of the most effective online learning channels by registering a user-base of 20 million-plus and a Y-o-Y growth rate of over 100 per cent. With a community learning model that combines online education, social media and machine learning, the platform facilitates an extensive network of peers, parents, teachers and experts to empower students.
Data Science Induction Programme
Analytics Vidhya opened its induction programme — Initiate AI — for companies to onboard data science talent for free. The programme initiates a data scientist in SQL for Data Science, Data Visualisation and Machine Learning. The online programme aims to benefit over 500 organisations globally.
According to Kunal Jain Founder & CEO of Analytics Vidhya: “The recent global events have caused disruption in corporates at several levels. Most of the operations and work in corporates has moved online. However, most of the companies do not have an online training platform. In order to help members of our community and our clients, we decided to offer Initiate AI to organisations looking to on-board data science talent in next few months. This is one of the ways we are giving back to our community.”
