In today's world it is pertinent to keep a balance between highs and lows. We succumb to peer pressure due to family expectations, career or business goals and immediate gratification syndrome. During these times it is only your power of positive mindset &your thought process which can help you break the vicious cycle.

Studies have proved that benefits of positive thinking are vital keys for long term success.

Positive aura

If your mind thinks in a positive way; a positive aura surrounds your personality which makes you stand out from the crowd. People always interact & connect with pleasing personalities. This gives you the edge of "Better first impression'. In turn this has a great impact in building future professional relationships and a flying career.

Positive thinking turns problems into opportunities. When you start perceiving problems as windows of learning, your problem turns into future opportunity. Students must train their minds to do this. If they are ready with solution the degree of failure reduces drastically. A positive mind helps them overcome fear, dejection, failure, depression, frustration and delinquency in career. It acts like a shock absorber and bounces them back with new energy.

Positive attitude

Positivity helps you cope more easily with the daily life affairs. It brings optimism into your life, and makes it easier to shun worries and negativity. If you work happily and stay optimistic in every situation, you are more likely to succeed than if you feel that the work is a burden and that it will not yield any positive outcomes.

Staying optimistic, staying focused, and believing in oneself and in one's work is what counts even more than the actual job itself. If you believe that no matter how hard you try, you just can’t complete the task at hand, you will never realise success despite possessing the potentiality to do so. However, if you believe that the job at hand can be accomplished no matter what, you will succeed the job role demands notwithstanding.

Attract creativity and respect

Moreover, positivity attracts creative thinking. Since positive individuals don't view things as problems, they tend to find creative solutions to the obstacles that come up in their lives. Positivity will benefit you by bringing you more respect from others, and having more influence over other people. You may even find that individuals around you are starting to develop a positive attitude because positivity is something that is contagious.

Ways to inculcate positivity

  • Observe your thoughts: Closely monitor your thought pattern. Is your mind conditioned to negative thoughts? What is the percentage of negative thoughts over positive in a day? Follow it for a week and draw a trajectory. If the negative graph is higher- start meditating, start purposely thinking positive in negative situation. It might seem foolish to you in the beginning but over a period of two weeks your mind will switch mode and start thinking positively in natural way. Perform the same test again- positive graph will override.
  • Digital media transform a negative situation into a positive one: Pick up one situation everyday which is negative as per you. Hypothetically imagine or you may write, the ways you could have changed it.
  • Digital media start making gratitude list:  Thank your blessings. Make a list of good thinks in your life. You will realise how blessed you are.

Optimistic individuals tend to be less stressed, have better relationships and do better at work. If you are constantly depressed, it's time you develop a positive outlook towards life.
