In today's scenario, education has become an essential and expensive asset and is the most powerful thing in life. It adds meaning to life in a massive way whilst enhancing it. Education is one such platform that makes it quite comprehensible to break all barriers and carve its own right way.

The objective of education is not just giving degrees that enable a student to earn a living but to profuse the spirits of humanity and virtues to young mind so that they can grow up to become responsible citizens of the world. Education should not be limited just to dish out the curriculum in a mechanical fashion but to ignite young minds. Hence, we should all put in our best efforts in availing and providing the best learning and education.

However, in a developing country like India, where poverty is still a problem; good education is a luxury that still cannot be afforded by many. Therefore, scholarships are given by various educational institutions to reduce the number of droppers and encourage the best students to continue pursuing their studies. One of the most important scholarship benefits for society is that it gives extra support that could help massively in aiding one's education. To make the process of education and learning unhindered, especially during this crisis period, let us now delineate the benefits of such scholarships.

  • Parents are already over-burdened with heavy school/college or institutional fees every month, which cannot be avoided or reduced under some circumstances.  Scholarships thus, aids in eliminating the extra baggage that comes in the form of hefty fees.
  • As these scholarships are given to students only based on a student's performance in the test, it means students receiving the scholarships are meritorious and they should be allowed to compete with the best minds
  • It motivates students and boosts their self-esteem. It makes them confident of their own capabilities and reduces the fear of dropping out or not availing the best guidance for future.
  • Getting a scholarship reduces the burden and risks of taking and repaying loans for higher studies. Thus, it allows studying, gain knowledge and secure better grades.
  • Scholarships are the best way a student can fulfill his or her dream of studying abroad and enables them to get global exposure and develop their interpersonal skills.
  • Most often than not, it is not the cost of the institution but the cost of the degree program that is too high. Such out of financial reach programs can be easily taken up through scholarships. Opting for a good and fully funded program helps a student get into his or her desired course.
  • COVID-19 has faltered and altered our existence to a great extent. These scholarships during such unprecedented times will act as a big help for parents who are facing pay cuts or have been laid off. These scholarships have come as a boon for them and they can ensure continuous learning of their children.

Coaching institutes and all other educational institutions can come forward and provide an aid for deserving students who want to excel in studies and their lives and give it back to society. The support that students receive from their own community infuses a greater sense of belonging and motivation.

Hence, it can be safely concluded that the provisions of these educational scholarships exemplify the fact that the process of learning and education should go on despite hindrances. We, at VMC, provide scholarships to the meritorious students, solely based on their performances in our entrance tests. The main purpose behind imparting education and learning is inclusion and not exclusion, for the greater benefit of society. We sincerely believe that education is the purview of all and hence, the brightest one shouldn't get missed out, only due to the lack of resources.
