Cyber frauds are increasing in the city during this pandemic era. Hacking and cloning of facebook ID and then demanding money in the name of help is one of those frauds. Even the facebook headquarters, California are unable to provide the details due this covid19 situation. More than 80 accounts were hacked since the pandemic period which include hacking of facebook IDs of SSP and DM of Aligarh too. A new case came into light where hacker tried to cheat BJP leader Manav Mahajan with cloned facebook ID of former ADM Aligarh, Indra Vikram Singh who is presently posted in Shahjahanpur as District Magistrate.
Hacker tried to cheat BJP leader Manav Mahajan with fake Facebook ID of Indra Vikram Singh, who was Additional District Magistrate in Aligarh. The hacker requested to transfer 40 thousand rupees online. When Indra Vikram Singh was approached in this regard, this fraud came out in knowledge.
Indra Vikram Singh has been Additional District Magistrate in Aligarh.
During his time, he became friends with businessman and BJP leader Manav Mahajan. On August 15, Manav Mahajan recieved a friend request on Facebook with the ID of Indra Vikram Singh. Manav Mahajan was already a friend of Indra Vikram Singh on Facebook.
The leader of the BJP leader was shocked. He accepted the request thinking that he might have created another ID. After some time, a message came on his messenger that “brother can you transfer 40 thousand rupees online , I will return them at 11 o'clock in the morning tomorrow. When Manav Mahajan got suspicious, he called Indra Vikram Singh. When the phone call was not answered, he sent this information by sending a message.
Indra Vikram Singh then wrote a message on his Facebook account warning friends. Indra Vikram Singh said through the post that by hacking his Facebook ID someone is asking for money. Ignore it.
Manav Mahajan said that the fake ID has been blocked by the hacker after Indra Vikram Singh posted on the original Facebook ID. This is a serious issue. The cyber cell should investigate it deeply and catch the criminals.
Fraudsters will only be caught when Facebook will provide the details.
The Facebook headquarter, California is unable to help with the cloning and fake id cases that are increasing day by day. The situation is that the details of hackers or clowns are not available even in three months. The reason being told from there that due to corona and lockdown, it is not being possible. In such a situation, there is a problem in catching these fraudsters in front of the cyber cell of the district police. This problem is not only one district, but across the state.
Amidst the Corona era, cyber hackers have introduced a new kind of forgery. Under this, any person's Facebook account is either hacked or a clone of it (the same name and photo of the account) is prepared. Then by sending a message of help to facebook friends, online money is demanded in the name of immediate help. Sometimes a friend helps without investigation, and becomes a victim of fraud.
SSP Muniraj Ji says that Countless cases have occurred in the district during this pandemic. A fake Facebook ID was created in the name of SP City Aligarh and DM. Trials were registered in both the cases. Cyber cell is trying its best to solve such cases of frauds. According to information received from cyber cell, about 80 such accounts have been corrected which were hacked. A large number of clone accounts have been blocked.
However, details are not available in this pandemic period from Facebook headquarters. Cyber ??experts say that usually on normal days, a month is suffiecient to get details from the US. Now three months have been passed, but the details have not been received yet.
