90,000 lives lost to coronavirus

India’s Covid-19 death count crossed 90,000-mark on Tuesday as the country once again recorded more than 1,000 deaths with Maharashtra leading the tally  followed by Tamil Nadu, Karnataka,  Andhra Pradesh, UP and Delhi. 

Maharashtra on Tuesday recorded 392 deaths which took it overall death count to 33,407. The State  reported 18,390 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, and with that the tally has now climbed to 12,42,770. The number of active cases is now pitched at 2,72,410 as per the latest information shared by the state health department.

Tamil Nadu recorded 76 deaths and  5,337 new cases on Tuesday which took its death count to 5,406 and total caseload to 5.52 lakh.

With 83 more deaths reported on Tuesday, Karnataka has lost 8,223 lives to Covid-19 till Tuesday wjile its total caseload stands at 5.33 lakh.Andhra Pradesh reported 51 deaths and 7,553 new cases on Tuesday. The overall death count in the state stands at 5,461 and total number of cases are pegged at 6.39 lakh.Uttar Pradesh saw 77 fatalities on Tuesday which took its overall death count to 5,212, while national capital Delhi saw 37 deaths during the last 24 hours. Delhi has a total of 5051 deaths so far from Covid-19.
