Due to lockdown all salons are closed but there are several alternative home remedies that one can follow for soft hands and feet, says Roshni Devi

Run out of moisturiser? Fret not. There are several cheaper options that are in our kitchen which make for a great way to keep hand and feet soft and moisturised. Use full fat yogurt. For better results add a teaspoon of honey to the yogurt and mix well. Slather this on your hands and feet and leave the marks for 10 minutes. Rinse properly and pat dry.

Scrub your hands and feet at least once a week with a good exfoliating agent to get rid of any dead skin. Take a teaspoon each of sugar, olive oil and mix it well with the juice of half a lemon. Rub this on your hands and feet for five to 10 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Clean under your nails with a nail brush on a regular basis. When you wash your hands, use a good quality nail brush to gently scrub beneath your nails and remove any dirt that may be stuck there.

Being home with no maids means that many  are spending a lot of time cooking. After kneading the dough for roti don’t wash your hands. Add a few drops of milk and lemon juice. Leave it for a few minutes. This will cleanse and moisture your hands.

Apply a mixture of glycerine and rose water regularly on hands and feet before going to bed. Leave it overnight. Do this regularly.

If you have cracked heels use honey of even coconut oil. Do this till crack disappears.
