Even with Unlock 2.0, people are apprehensive about visiting a salon for that much-needed face spa due to the fear of catching infection. ROSHANI DEVI tells you how some easily available ingredients at home can help you get that glow

Before salons came up, I remember my mother would make us girls spend at least 20 minutes in a day to clean our face by using simple ingredients from her kitchen as a scrub and then make a mask which we had to put and leave it on for 10-15 minutes and wash off for that glowing pink and smooth skin.

COVID-19 has definitely put us on the backfoot but that doesn’t mean one can’t make use of the tricks that our grandparents used. Here are some of them.

The most common scrub can be made by taking four tablespoons of besan and adding oil to it. One can use pure virgin cold pressed olive oil or coconut oil. Make a smooth paste.  Apply on the face and massage gently in a circular motion for five minutes. Ensure that you don’t rub harshly under the eye area. Wash off. Pat dry. Now for the mask.

Take four tablespoons of maida and two tablespoons of dahi. Make a smooth paste and apply this on the face, leave it on for 10-15 minutes or till it somewhat dries. Wash off and pat dry. You can do this every night before going to bed.
