Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 2,12,609 on Monday as 3,235 more people tested positive for the disease, a health department official said.
The death toll due to the infection crossed the 800- mark in the state with 16 more fatalities taking the total to 813, he said.
"Regret to inform the demise of sixteen COVID positive patients while under treatment in hospitals," the Health and Family Welfare Department said on Twitter.
Of the fresh fatalities, three were reported from Balasore, two each from Khurda, Mayurbhanj and Puri and one each from Bolangir, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nawrangpur.
Ganjam accounted for 219 of 813 deaths reported in the state so far, followed by Khurda (128) and Cuttack (66), the official said.
The new coronavirus cases were detected in all the 30 districts of the state.
At least 1,915 cases were registered in quarantine centres, while 1,320 people tested positive for the infection during contact tracing, he said.
Khurda district, of which Bhubaneswar is a part, recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 506, followed by Cuttack at 318 and Angul at 179.
Odisha now has 38,172 active cases, while 1,73,571 people have recovered from the disease.
The state has conducted over 31.59 lakh sample tests, including 47,634 on Sunday.
