Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik on Friday urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to let people know about the State’ economic situation.
“The State Government has imposed some economic restrictions in the wake of Covid pandemic. From this, it is understood that the economic condition of the State is not good. It indicates, lack of longstanding developmental plans and failure in creating jobs have created such a weak financial condition,” observed Patnaik.
Alleging that the KALIA and Peetha and LED Bulb distribution schemes were meant to gain votes, he said these schemes have negatively impacted the State’s economy.
He urged the Government to expedite recruitment process and make 80% to 85% reservation for locals in private firms mandatory. He demanded that workers, farmers and small businessmen be provided allowance of Rs 7,500 for six month as they have been affected by lockdowns.
