Children can be empowered through literature; hence, it is imperative to write for them keeping in mind their age and needs, said eminent writer Dash Benhur here on Sunday.
Delivering the Fifth Ganeswar Mishra Memorial Lecture marking the renowned litterateur’s fifth death anniversary, Dash Benhur pointed out, “Literature helps children develop, cultured, create their identities and broaden their horizon.” Mishra believed in this and wrote numerous books for children, including his award-winning Bilatare Babu O Papu, he observed.
Well-known translator and former Professor of English, Utkal University Jatindra Kumar Nayak threw light on Mishra’s approach to life and literature. “He always tried to keep things simple,” he said.
