Local MP and Union Minister Pratap Sarangi on Wednesday gave a count on one-year achievements of the Narendra Modi Government II and his own efforts for the district. .
He claimed that Odisha has received better attention and assistances from the Centre in all the sectors.
“Odisha received Rs 500 crore as Cyclone Amphan assistance a day after the PM visit. The State received
Railway allocation of Rs 5,000 crore this year and total of Rs 31,400 during the last six years,” he said.
He said as many as 12 persons from Odisha were nominated for Padma award this year which is an all-time record.
He claimed that as many as 178 trains have ferried Odia migrants during the lockdown period. The Centre has extended help in establishing Covid hospitals also, he said.
He said Odisha would have a good share in the Rs 20-lakh crore stimulus package.

Regarding his efforts for development of his constituency, Sarangi said he has taken initiatives for revival of the Rasgobindapur airstrip and establishment of rice mill cluster at Baleswar, underpass on Charampa- Baisinga NH stretch, coir-making training centres at Bhograi and Nilgiri and a 50-bed Ayush hospital at Baleswar.
“Besides, projects like revival of the coast canal, sick Baliapal Spinning Mill, construction of new bus stand, truck terminals, dredging of river mouths, developing fishery sectors and rehabilitation of migrant workers are in pipeline,” said Sarangi.
