The East Coast Railway Mazdoor Union has demanded that the Railway authorities pay bonus to workers before Dussehra, or else they would stage a nationwide demonstration on October 28.
The union made this demand while observing the “Chetabani Saptaha” (warning week) from October 10 to 16 called by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangha at all divisions, branches, Mancheswar workshop and zonal headquarters.
The union also demanded cancellation of pay limit imposed in cases of night duty allowance. Railway workers submitted memorandum to the Railway Minister, General Manger and Chief Factory Manager, Mancheswar Workshop. All railway employees at Kalupadaghat, Paradip, Cuttack, Khurda Road, Sambalpur, Vishakhapatnam, Mancheswar and Rail Sadan were informed about the Mazdoor’s demand.
Union zonal general secretary Sachita Nanda Biswal thanked all ECoR workers for making the Chetabani Week a success.
