118 new cases, 4 deaths reported on Friday

The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) affected patients in Uttarakhand mounted to 7183 on Friday with the State health department reporting 118 new cases of the disease. Four patients of Covid-19 died on the day taking up the death toll to 80 in the State.

 On a positive note, 172 patients of the disease were discharged from different hospitals of the state on Friday. A total of 4168 patients have so far recovered from the disease.

The recovery rate of the disease in Uttarakhand is now at 58.03 percent and the doubling rate is 24.97 days.  Out of the total samples tested 4.75 per cent have tested positive for the disease. On Friday three patients ( 55 year old male, 75 year old female and a 24 year old female) of Covid-19 died at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. A 60 year old male, positive for the disease, expired at Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital Haldwani.

The authorities reported 55 new patients in provisional state capital Dehradun while 34 patients came up in Nainital district. Six patients were reported in Haridwar, five patients each from Tehri and Udham Singh Nagar, four in Pauri, three each in Almora and Rudraprayag and one patient each was reported in Bageshwar, Chamoli and Uttarkashi districts.

Meanwhile the Congress MLA from Purola, Rajkumar who was tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh. On Friday, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh inquired about his health and wished him a speedy recovery.

In Dehradun 95 patients were discharged following their recovery while 65 patients were discharged in Nainital, eight in Pauri, three in Udham Singh Nagar and one in Haridwar district.The State now has 2897 active patients of the disease with Haridwar district leading the table with 891 active cases followed by Udham Singh Nagar district which has 779 active cases.

Dehradun is in third position with 422 active cases while Nainital now has 419 active patients of Covid 19. Almora now has 86 active patients each while Pithoragarh has 73 active patients.

Uttarkashi has 69, Tehri 57, Champawat 49, Pauri 29 and Chamoli 10 active cases of the disease. Rudraprayag now has nine while Bageshwar has six active cases of Covid-19.
