13 deaths, 1,192 cases reported on Thursday

The contagion of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) is showing no signs of any let off in Uttarakhand. The State health department reported 1,192 fresh cases of the disease on Thursday which increased the tally of patients to 37,139 on the day. Apart from becoming more intensive, the virus is becoming fatal with each passing day. On Thursday, 13 deaths due to the Covid-19 were reported. The death toll from the disease has mounted to 460 in the State.

The authorities discharged 533 patients of the disease from different hospitals of the state on Thursday. A total of 24,810 patients have so far got cured from the disease. The percentage recovery from the Covid-19 now stands at 66.80 percent in Uttarakhand with a doubling rate of 20.23 days. Out of the total samples tested 6.84 percent have tested positive for the disease.

Eight patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Thursday. Similarly two persons expired in Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani. One person each was reported dead from Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Dehradun and HNB base hospital, Srinagar on Thursday.

Out of the 533 patients cured on Thursday, 166 are from Dehradun,132 from Nainital, 67 from Haridwar, 42 from Rudraprayag, 36 from Uttarkashi, 29 from Pauri, 24 from Tehri, 14 from Champawat and 10 from Udham Singh Nagar district.

The authorities reported 430 fresh cases from Dehradun while 203 and 149 patients were reported from Nainital and Haridwar district respectively. Similarly 117 patients in Udham Singh Nagar, 67 in Chamoli, 52 in Pauri, 49 in Rudraprayag, 39 in Uttarkashi, 30 in Almora and 19 in Tehri were reported on the day. Fifteen patients were reported in Rudraprayag, 13 in Bageshwar and nine in Champawat were reported on Thursday.

Uttarakhand now has 11714 active patients of the disease with Dehradun maintaining its top position in the table with 3882 active patients of the disease. Dehradun is followed by Haridwar with 2397 active patients while Nainital is at third position with 1416 active patients. Udham Singh Nagar has 1364,  Pauri 548, Tehri 372, Uttarkashi 336, Pithoragarh 328 and Champawat 239 active patients of the disease. Chamoli has 244, Almora has 215, Rudraprayag 190, and Bageshwar district has 183 active patients of the disease.
