The State Government has so far provided skill training to 14,058 youths in Nuapada, Balangir and Kalahandi districts under the placement linked training programme and the DDU-GKY to check migration of workers to outside the State.
Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Premananda Nayak said this in response to a question of Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja on Saturday.
According to the Minister, of 14,058 trained youths 7,727 have got placements in various units.
While 13,447 youths got training under the DDU-GKY during the last seven years, 611 youths got training under the placement linked training programme during the last four years, the Minister said.
