187 test +ve in BBSR; total cases 4,358

As many as 187 new Covid-19 positive cases were registered under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area on Wednesday. With this, the city’s total case rose to 4,358.

Of the new cases, 104 were from quarantine and 83 were local contact cases.

The quarantined cases included 18, all employees of a hotel at Jayadev Vihar linked with an earlier positive case; five of Chandrasekharpur BDA Colony; five of Mancheswar linked with an earlier case; five of Chandrasekharpur; four of Samtrapur Mahaveer Nagar linked with an earlier case; four of Palasuni linked with an earlier case; four of Dumduma linked with an earlier case; three of VSS Nagar Mahaveer Basti; three of Reserve Police Colony; three of Central Revenue Colony; two of Unit-8 OCC Colony; two of Sikharchandi Basti; two of IRC Village; two of Unit-4 near RBI Colony; two of Salia Sahi; and two of Kapilaparasad BDA Colony.

The local contacts included three cases of Ganganagar, three of Shailashree Vihar, three of Satuanagar, two of Nayapalli, two of Sundarpada, two of Mancheswar, two of Unit-8, two of Jagamara Bhaktamadhu Nagar, two of Samatrapur, two of Patia, two of Dumduama, two of Bomikhal and two of Bhoi Nagar.

However, 107 persons recovered from the disease on the day in the city, taking the total recoveries to 2,914.

In Cuttack, 85 positive cases were detected on Wednesday, with which the city’s total tally rose to 1,879.

Of the new cases, 24 cases were from Malgodown Jalua Sahi, 13 from institutional quarantine, 27 from home quarantine and 21 local contact cases.
