2 flee Covid Hosp in Ganjam

Wednesday, 15 July 2020 | PNS | BRAHMAPUR

Two patients undergoing treatment at the Tata Covid Hospital at Sitalapali in Ganjam district have escaped from the hospital on Sunday last.

After finding them missing, the hospital authorities have lodged a police complaint on Monday morning. However, they are yet to be traced.

On July 3, Excise Intelligence officials had nabbed the two from the New Bus Stand here while they were smuggling ganja and later sent them to jail, where their swab samples were collected for Covid-19 test. After their reports came positive, they were shifted to the Covid Hospital on July 10.

Two days after being admitted to the hospital, the duo fled on July 12. They are residents of Bhubaneswar, said sources.
