Two candidates from Odisha have been ranked in the Top-10 of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, results of which were declared on Tuesday.
While Abhishek Saraf has ranked eighth, Sanjita Mohapatra emerged 10th in the Civil Services examination. Besides, 18 others from the State have got different ranks.
They are Anshuman Raj (107), Anup Das (120), Nabal Kumar Jain (125), Sailaja Das (190), Rahul Mishra (202), Hema Nayak (225), Arushi Mishra (229), Ashish Das (291), Ankit Shankar Mishra (294), Sonali Mishra (300), Divya Mishra (312), Arghya Pattnaik (361), Jubin Mohapatra (379), Samir Kumar Jena (441), Manas Ranjan Sahu (567), Shivam Mishra (712), Om Prasad Mohanty (715) and Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak (819).
A total of 829 candidates have been selected to various Civil Services through the 2019 edition of the exam. Pradeep Singh has topped the exam.
The UPSC conducts the Civil Services exam every year for selection of candidates to Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other Central Services.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated the successful candidates.
“Congratulate all the successful candidates from Odisha who have cleared UPSC examination. May they work with dedication to take welfare initiatives to grassroots bringing visible changes in people’s lives. Wish them bright careers,” tweeted Patnaik.
“I hope successful candidates will work for development in grassroots level and will be part in the making of powerful Bharat,” Pradhan said while congratulating them.
PCC president Niranjan Patnaik too congratulated the candidates. He expressed happiness for two candidates from Odisha getting ranks in Top 10.
