Two miscreants were arrested on Friday for allegedlysexually assaulting and murdering a 19-year-old tribal girl of a village under the Kalinganagar police station in Jajpur district on January 15 night.
“The arrested persons have been identified as Akuna Hemrum (18) and Rabi Sidhu (24) of Hatimunda village. The victim girl was abducted by four accused persons in two motorbikes when she was returning to her village after attending a Makal Mela near the village.
Later, they sexually assaulted and murdered her at the Hatimunda forest, five kilometers from her village,” said Kalinganagar police station IIC Rajendra Patnaik.
