Police have detained two minors, including a girl, for allegedly hacking an elderly woman to death on suspicion of practising witchcraft in Keonjhar district.
A police official said both minors have been detained for questioning and would be produced before a Juvenile Court. The deceased, identified as Kuni Munda (65), was staying alone at Bholabeda village under the Dhenkikote police outpost. The minors from the same village killed her at her house with an axe late on Wednesday night.The minor boy suspected the woman practising sorcery when his parents died a few days back.
Similarly, after minor girl’s mother fell ill during past eight months, she suspected Kuni doing black magic. The two minors planned to eliminate Kuni and, accordingly, barged into her house and killed her.
