Chandigarh on Saturday reported two more Covid-19 fatalities, pushing the toll to 216 while 57 fresh cases took the infection count to 13,977, officials said.
There are 674 active cases in the city as of now, according to the medical bulletin. A total of 78 patients were discharged after they recovered, taking the number of cured people to 13,087, it said.
A 78- year old male, resident of Sector 48, a case of Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, who tested Covid-19 positive, expired at GMCH-32 on October 24. Another 57- year- old male, resident of Sector 25, who tested Covid -19 positive, expired at GMSH-16. A total of 100,797 samples have been taken for testing so far and of them, 86, 213 tested negative while reports of 116 samples are awaited, as per bulletin.
