With the arrest of 24 persons, Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a gambling den operating from a house in the state capital.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Yadav identified the men as Ajil Khan (60), Jitendra Kripalani alias Jitu (28), Dharmendra Pandit (30), Manoj Bansal (32), Sunil Kumar Tandon (30), Praveen Soni (34), Ravi Munjar (34), Ganju Angare (58) , Dinesh Mahanand (28), Mukesh Narwani (38), Vimal Jain (42), Moin Khan (50) Sanjay Kumar (46), Pankaj Munjar (33), Bhuvan Mahanand (25), Amit Dua (34), Satish Kumar (48), Rajiv Tiwari (30), Gajanand Patel (40), Haider Ali (25), Vivek Agrawal (25), Annu Hasan (57), Nirmal Jain (40) and Pramod Yadav (33).
On Saturday night, police received a tip that several persons were gambling from a house in a narrow lane off Momin Para locality in the Azad Chowk police station limits, the officer said.
Police raided the spot and recovered Rs 10.10 lakh in cash, 23 mobile phones, dice and small balls, Yadav added.
