With the aim to prevent the spread of coronavirus and other communicable diseases, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to launch a state-wide three-day cleanliness drive in rural areas while ensuring social distancing, from Friday to Sunday.
“The departments of Urban Development, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and others will coordinate the drive. During the drive, anti-larva chemical spray and fogging should be ensured,” Yogi said while chairing the Unlock review meeting at Lok Bhawan here on Wednesday.
“Piped water supply should be maintained for providing potable water and special focus should be given on cleaning water tanks. Community toilets should be set up on priority,” he said.
The CM also directed Health department officials to rev up daily Covid tests to 35,000 and said that RT-PCR and TrueNat machines be used along with rapid antigen tests for testing. He also said that additional teams be set up and trained for more sample collection and all equipment in labs be kept functional.
“TrueNat machines can also be used for testing TB patients and private hospitals should be encouraged to procure and use these machines,” the CM said after reviewing the strength of technicians for manning TrueNat machines.
In the meeting, Yogi highlighted the importance of Covid Helpdesk and asked officials to promote it so that more people with symptoms could be detected. He asked officials to set up more helpdesks and run them effectively.
The chief minister asked officials to maintain all Covid and non-Covid hospitals with proper sanitation.
“District magistrates and chief medical officers should supervise their working regularly and ensure that doctors and nurses take rounds regularly. They should also ensure 48-hour back-up of oxygen in hospitals,” the CM said.
Yogi also directed officials to take necessary steps to save police and PAC personnel from infection. “The police force should be more  careful and special focus should be given on preventing them from getting infected,” he said.
Stressing that awareness campaign on coronavirus prevention was necessary, the CM said, “Public address system be used to tell people about the need to maintain two-metre social distancing, use of masks and avoiding moving out unnecessarily. Officials should be more careful about hotspots as most positive cases are being reported from there.”
There are 3,217 hotspots in the state covering 8.73 lakh houses and over 50 lakh population.
