Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain flagged-off three fully equipped ambulances donated by BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) under its ‘Suraksha’ initiative. The keys to the ambulances were handed over to the minister by the BYPL CEO P R Kumar.
The three Life Support ambulances were in-turn handed-over by the Minister to the senior officials from the three Delhi Government hospitals, GTB Hospital, GB Pant Hospital and Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. These will be deployed to provide timely care to the patients in East and Central Delhi.
Apart from the ambulances, the BYPL CEO also handed over 50 automatic sanitiser cum thermal temperature scanner machines to the Minister. These will be installed at Mohalla Clinics in East and Central Delhi. Thirty such machines were handed over to the office of DCP, East Delhi a few days earlier.
Over the next-few days, three more life support ambulances will be handed-over to the Delhi Government by BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) CEO Amal Sinha for the use of Covid patients in South and West Delhi. These will be attached to the Government’s CATS Ambulance Services. BRPL promoted self help groups are also stitching affordable masks and a lot of 1500 such masks were handed over to DM, West Delhi.
According to a BSES spokesperson, “Complimenting the efforts of the Delhi Government, BSES discoms have been playing their part in the fight against Covid. Dry food rations, Hygiene kits and masks have been provided to the needy. In fact, over the past few months, over 2 lakh gloves, 2 lakh masks, over 20,000 hygiene kits, and 6000 PPE kits have been provided by the discoms.”
“Apart from this, discom promoted Women Self Help Groups are stitching affordable and reusable masks for hundreds of people residing in the slums Besides helping these women supplement their loss of income during the pandemic, they are also being distributed amongst the needy and the vulnerable population”, he said.
