As many as 35 persons have returned from abroad to Gajapati district till now. Besides, 2,617 people working in different places of the country have come back to the district.
More than 2,100 persons have been put on quarantine in the district. But no swabs have been collected and sent for tests, informed Chief District Medical Officer Gunarani Patnaik.
Many people of the district are working as migrant labourers or engaged in companies in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. But after the coronavirus outbreak many of them have returned home. The Health Department has reached them and after conducting tests put them on home quarantine.
