In a matter of great concern, frontline workers like doctors, paramedics and policemen involved in the war against coronavirus are increasingly getting infected.

On Tuesday, out of the 52 new positive cases registered in Sundargarh district, 36 are police personnel and one is a doctor. There is a DSP and an inspector among the infected personnel.

The remaining new cases include six returnees, seven contacts of previous positive cases and 2 local contact cases.

All the infected persons were shifted to the Rourkela Covid Hospital Rourkela, Covid Health Centre, NTPC Hospital, Sundargarh or home quarantined as per the new guidelines of the Government, said Sundargarh Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan in a tweet.

“Out of the 37 home quarantined Covid warriors, 15 will be shifted to Covid health centre based on their health condition,” Kalyan added.
