A total of 1086 FIRs have been registered and 4,435 persons have been arrested so far for violating the lockdown in the state.
Informing about this, the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) additional CEO Ridhim Agrawal said that about Rs 60 lakh had also been collected in fine from those violating the lockdown. She further informed that 1,000 cadets of National Cadet Corps,2,500 volunteers of National Service Scheme, 5,000 scouts and guides, and 6,500 volunteers of the Nehru Yuva Kendra are also ready to assist in efforts for containment of COVID-19. Agrawal also warned about three types of cyber frauds being orchestrated these days. She said, “Offers of free Netflix passes, link for EMI postponement and fake relief funds are being used to commit cyber frauds.
Such complaints have come from neighbouring states and though no such case has surfaced yet in Uttarakhand, some such messages have been noticed circulating on WhatsApp in the state. We appeal the citizens to beware of such frauds.”
