Four persons sustained critical injuries when they were attacked by a group of unidentified miscreants near a quarantine centre in the Kanasa area of Puri district on Saturday night.
Sources some stones were pelted at the quarantine centre around 11 pm. However, when the local Sarpanch’s husband’s who’s was present in the quarantine centre, informed the villagers about the incident, they rushed to the spot.
In the meantime, the miscreants, who were hiding in the dark, attacked the villagers with sharp weapons and fled from the spot.
The injured were shifted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. Police have started an investigation into the incident to ascertain the reason behind the attack and efforts were on to trace and nab the absconding miscreants.
