As many as 45 juveniles lodged in the Government Special Observation Home for Boys here have tested positive for Covid-19.
Sources said antigen test of 72 inmates of the juvenile home was conducted, in which 45 tested positive for the deadly virus. All of them have been kept in isolation in the juvenile home and are undergoing treatment.
Receiving the information, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Subrat Sarangi reached the home to take stock of the situation.
It’s worth mentioning that juveniles from 12 districts are kept in this facility. Recently, 45 Covid positive cases had been reported from the Berhampur Circle Jail.
