A five-day virtual art festival “Rang Ashoka 2020” began from Thursday. The art festival is being organized by Rangdoot Theatre Troupe in the memory of known playwright Ashok Tiwari.
Ashok Tiwari was originally from Madhya Pradesh. He started his theatrical life directly. Later he also acted in the theatrical troupe of noted actors Alok Chatterjee and Balendu Singh in Bhopal.
After independent work in Bhopal, he formed Ekta Natya Samiti in Sidhi along with his friends. And made successful plays in the 90s like Matigadi, Saiya Bhai Kotwal, twelve hundred twenty six bata seven, Battle of Harishchandra, Raja ka Baja. Ashok Tiwari won the Best Director award at the National Theatrical Contest Bareilly and Banaras at a very young age.
But, this talented theatre worker, full of potential, had to leave the world at a very young age due to a disease. Sidhi district has emerged as a theater hub in Madhya Pradesh today. At its core is the theater of Ashok Tiwari.
In his memory, Rangadoot Natya Dal started the ceremony named Rang Ashoka from last year. This year, due to Covid 19, it was decided to perform the event in virtual space. It will be held live on the Facebook page of Rangdoot from August 6 to 10 daily at 8 pm. In this, around 25 artists from different genres are participating from all over the country. There will be presentations of color talk, story recitation, poetry recitation, drama recitation, theatre music, smooth music, folk music.
Sushil Sharma (Delhi), Ajay Srivastava Ajju (Bhopal), Sadat Bharti (Katni), Phanindrashekhar Pandey (Sidhi), Tara Tripathi (Rewa), Ravi Shankar Bharti (Mumbai), Akhilesh Tripathi (Sidhi) from August 6-9 , Savita Dahiya (Satna), Dr. Abhishek Tripathi (Rewa), Prakash Tiwari Madhur (Mumbai), Manoj Mishra (Rewa), Virendra Sharma (Rewa), Ashutosh Mishra (Patna), Idrish Khatri (Indore), Vishal Acharya (Bhopal) , Vipul Singh (Rewa), Roshni Prasad Mishra (Sidhi) will participate in the event.
The moderator of the programme will be Shailendra Dwivedi, Sushil Tripathi, Jitendra Dev Pandey Vidyarthi, Dheeraj Soni. The final day will feature a recitation of the delighted Sony-written drama “Prem Politics” by the cast of Rangdoot.
