City records 48% recovery rate
Recording the highest single-day spike of 571 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the national Capital rose to 11,659. This is the third consecutive day where the city has recorded more then 500 new cases. Delhi also reported 194 fatalities in this period.
On the other hand, the city recorded a recovery rate of 48 per cent.
As per experts, the recovery rate is likely to increase by two per cent in next two days.
Lauding the efforts of medical staff and increase in corona patients’ recovery rate, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Am so proud of our team of doctors and nurses who have provided the best possible treatment to our Covid patients. Delhi will soon have more recovered patients than the number of active cases.”
According to State Health Department, this was the second single-day spike in Covid-19 cases reported in the national Capital.
On Wednesday, the health department said that 534 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in 24 hours — the highest single-day spike — while the figure was 500 for new infections on Tuesday.
More than 5,500 people, 5,567 to be precise, have recovered from coronavirus in Delhi or have been discharged from hospitals. The State health department has done the cumulative testing of 154,385 people so far while 2739 have been advised for home quarantine.
If corona data is compared with last week, the number of Coronapositive cases increased but recovery rate has improved considerably.
The database of health department implied that in previous week , the number of positive cases per day fluctuated between 400-472 however this week, per day cases have been reported above 500.
While on one side, cases increased but the containment zones have decreased.
According to Home department, on Sunday, the number of containment zone was 76, however, the number has reduced to 64.
