756 more Covid -19 cases in Haryana, total cases cross 39k mark

Haryana’s Covid-19 infection tally on Thursday shot up to 39,303 with 756 more people testing positive for the virus, while the death toll rose to 458 with three more fatalities, according to an official bulletin.

Faridabad surpassed Gurugram in the cumulative number of Covid cases on Thursday. With 161 fresh cases, Faridabad’s Covid tally now stood at 9,671, highest in the State, followed by Gurugram at 9,495.

Out of three, two fatalities were reported from Faridabad while one from Ambala. The total COVID-19 deaths in the state rose to 458 while the number of active cases increased to 6205, it said.

The districts that reported fresh cases included Gurgaon (83), Rewari (48), Sonipat (51), Ambala (78) and Panchkula (54) among others.

With recovery of 680 new patients, a total of 32,640 have been discharged from different hospitals of the State so far. The maximum number of 217 patients recovered from Faridabad district on Thursday. The state’s recovery rate on Thursday was 83.05 per cent while the rate of doubling of infections was 27 days, it said.

587 COPS TESTED POSITIVE, SAYS DGP

Haryana Director General of Police Manoj Yadava said that so far, 587 policemen have been found Covid- 19 positive, which is 1.14 percent of the total force and the police recovery rate is 65 percent. So far three policemen have died from Corona infection.

He said that during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Policemen despite risking their lives dedicatedly performed their duties as Corona Warriors. The rate of policemen getting COVID-19 infection is lesser as compared to other states DGP added.
