Bhubaneswar on Monday recorded 89 more Covid-19 positive cases, taking its total tally to 3,068. Out of the new cases, 65 were from quarantine and 24 were local contacts, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
The quarantine cases included 17 of Aiginia Aulu Gadi linked with an earlier positive case; seven, all males, of Police Reserve Colony linked with an earlier case; five of Gautan Nagar Basti linked with an earlier case; four of Badagada Nua Sahi linked with an earlier case; three of Rasulgarh GGP Colony linked with an earlier case; three of Jagamara Uppar Sahi linked with an earlier case; three of Chandrasekharpur Shramik Basti linked with an earlier case; two of Unit-8 CBI Colony; two of Unit-6 linked with an earlier case; one of Pokhariput Gopalkrsihna Vihar; and one of Pokhariput Ananta Vihar, who is a CRPF employee with travel history of Hyderabad.
The local contacts included two of BJB Nagar; two of Ganganagar; two of Unit-6 Radhakrusha Basti; one of Pokhariput Gopalakrishna Nagar; one of Rameshwarpatna; one of Kolathia; one of Tamando Subudhipur; one of Nayapalli near CRPF Square; one of Satyanagar near Big Bazaar; and one of Kharavel Nagar Press Colony.
However, as many as 107 patients recovered from the disease in the city on the day.
In Cuttack, 87 more positive cases were detected on Monday. With this, the city’s total cases rose to 1,091.
Of the new cases, 76 were from home quarantine, eight local contacts, two from paid quarantine and institutional quarantine, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) said.
A super spreader has infected 57 persons in the city, including 27 women in Malgodown Behera Sahi. On July 29, the CMC had declared Behera Sahi as a containment zone after detection 12 positive cases.
