Admin asks parties not to organise public events

As part of the preventive measures in view of the festive season, the district administration has asked the political parties not to organise public events and help in curbing spread of coronavirus.

A meeting with representatives of political parties was convened at the Collectorate Auditorium Jamshedpur under the chairmanship of ADM Law and Order Nandkishore Lal. He appealed to the representatives not to inaugurate any kind of public program, foundation stone-keeping in view of prevention of possible spread of corona infection.

The ADM Law and Order stated that the district administration is trying to prevent corona infection in the district, so cooperation from all political parties is also required. It is important that they do not organise any mass programme and do the foundation-inauguration program. The meeting also appealed for cooperation by informing the representatives of political parties about the guidelines issued by the state government for organising Durga Puja 2020. Representatives of BJP, Congress, AJSU and CPI were present on the occasion.

Following are the guidelines issued for Durga Puja / Dussehra 2020- Durga Puja should be conducted by devotees in temples and homes. The puja can also be conducted in small pandals / mandapas, where it has been done as per tradition in the past, but it will be aimed solely at rituals without public participation. The Durga Puja pandal / mandap will be covered in such a manner so that the idols are not seen in public. No subject-specific shape / construction will be done on Durga Puja pandal / mandap (not theme based). No electrical decoration will be done in the vicinity of Durga Puja pandal / mandap. In addition to the idol installed in the puja pandal / mandap, the entire portion of the pandal will remain open. The size of the idol should be less than four feet.The process of public address will be of no use. No fair will be organized on the occasion of Durga Puja.

In addition to the provisions of Section 51-60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, legal action will be taken against the persons violating the guidelines given above under Section 188 of the IMD.
