The Bharat Raksha Manch (BRM) along with other organisations celebrated the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of Ram Janmabhoomi Temple at Ayodhya at the holy Bindu Sagar in the Old Town here. Devotees organised a Yajna. A special cover with Ramayana Stamps was also released.
Bhikshus from the Buddha Temple, representatives from the Jain, Sikh, Muslim and Christian communities joined the celebration.
BRM president Dr Ashoak Acharya said Lord Ram is a symbol of communal harmony. BRM, national secretary Anil Dhir said the temple would be a symbol to unite the country. Prafulla Swain, who organised the celebration, said that like Ayodhya, other holy places like Bhubaneswar too should be developed.
Umesh Khandelwal from the Marwari Yuva Manch said the grand temple at Ayodhya would be a global landmark.
