Domestic flights from the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur will commence on May 25 after remaining suspended for weeks due to the outbreak of Covid-19. Bookings have started and a schedule has been announced till June 30.
Airport Director Rakesh Sahai said: “The flights operational will be to Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata. Indigo, Air India and Vistara will commence the services.”
The Raipur flights to Delhi will be at 0940 and 2000 hours while the Hyderabad flight will take off at 1100 hours, The Bangalore flight time is 1525 hours and that of Kolkata 0845 hours, he said.
An entire set of norms have been announced in view of the coronavirus pandemic.
Sahai said: “Passengers have to carry their tickets on mobile as the airport will provide contact-less experience. Web checking has to be done. The passenger can download the baggage tag/baggage identification number, print it and fix it. If not, the authorities will assist it.”
He added: “Every passenger has to wear a mask. They have to download ‘Arogya Setu App’ to certify the status of his health. In case of red, screening and check-up will be done at the airport. All social distancing marks have been made in the airport premises. Passengers should reach the airport early.”
According to him, contact-less sanitizer facility has been provided at the airport premises.
Passengers can also carry their own sanitizer bottle, but not more than 350 ml. The airport will sanitize the premises and luggage. The baggage will be handed over to the passengers at the destination only after sanitization, he said.
