A 42-year-old assistant sub- inspector posted at Giridih nagar police station,identified as Vijay Tirkey, committed suicide by hanging himself at his home at Gwala tola area in the city. The police, however, said the exact reason behind the ASI's death was yet to be ascertained.
After getting the information, DySP Vinod Ravani and city station in-charge Adikant Mahato also reached at the house of the deceased ASI and started an investigation about the incident.
The deceased Vijay Tirkey was a resident of Sisai in Gumla district and was posted at town police station in Giridih district for nearly three years. The family has also been informed about the incident.While the town police are investigating the entire case.
Sources said that It is being told that the house where he lived at Gwala tola officer colony has been recently purchased by the deceased ASI, Vijay Tirkey. While the reasons for the suicide of the deceased have not been revealed.
According to the information, the deceased Vijay Tirkey returned from duty on Friday night. On Saturday morning, when the deceased was called from the city police station, he did not pick up the phone.
Meanwhile, local people,who informed the city police station that Vijay Tirkey was not opening the door of his house. After this, the police of the town police station reached the spot and the door was broken. After breaking the door, it was seen that Vijay Tirkey's body was hanging with a rope from the ceiling. While the deceased's mobile, service pistol and his magazine are kept separately.
According to the station in-charge, all the goods have been seized and ready to be sent for forensic investigation.
