As a pilot project, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to keep asymptomatic Covid-19 positive patients in home isolation, officials said on Friday.
The government has released the conditions which need to be fulfilled before confining any patient in their own home.
Initially, 290 Covid-19 positive patients across the state will be in home isolation. Of these, Raipur will account for 50, the officials said.
During home isolation, all patients will be constantly monitored by the district level 24X7 call center and control room.
A district team will inspect the house before giving permission for home isolation. Only houses with three bedrooms with sufficient cross ventilation and separate toilet-bathrooms will be permitted to keep patients at home, the officials said.
Under any circumstance, persons suffering from serious disease like heart, cancer, kidney or other disease or patients living alone will not be home isolated.
A red colour sticker will be pasted outside houses picked for home isolation.
During the duration of home isolation, a health worker/attendant will monitor the patient. In case of any breathing trouble, constant pain in chest, head or any other complications, the patient will be immediately shifted to a dedicated Covid hospital.
A rapid action team will be on standby to shift the patient to a hospital from home.
If the patients or family members violate the isolation protocol, the patient will be shifted to a Covid care center and will be charged under the Epidemic Act.
