Banks asked to resume normal working hrs

Saturday, 23 May 2020 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

In view of relaxation during Lockdown 4.0, the State Government has directed all scheduled banks now to operate with full strength in all working days from 10 am to 4 pm for customers.

In a letter to the SLBCs and district Collectors, the Finance Department asked the banks, including Cooperative Banks and RRBs, to follow the normal working hours for smooth banking transactions in the interest of the public.

The letter further stated that the Banking Correspondents (BCs) and the Customer Service Points (CSPs) in the State are allowed to operate from 7 am to 6.30 pm except from 2 pm to 4 pm for the benefit or rural customers.

Notably, the Government had imposed restrictions on banking hours in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown earlier.
