The Baghamari police in Khordha district have lodged a case against Bhubaneswar Central BJD MLA Ananta Narayan Jena for allegedly misbehaving with and threatening a woman in Khordha district on March 19 over old enmity.
In her complaint, the woman Rashmita Mahabhoi has alleged that Jena along with 20 others misbehaved with her over shifting of mud mounds at the Sarua industrial estate in the district. The MLA and his armed associates had allegedly threatened to kill her husband Dilip Mahabhoi by barging into her house at around 10.30 pm on May 19.
Following the complaint, Jena was booked by police under Sections 48/294/354(B)/506/34 of IPC and 25 of Arms Act.
However, Jena termed the allegations against him as “false and baseless” describing the woman’s husband as a “habitual offender”. “By lodging the police complaint, the woman is trying to frame me in a false case,” he claimed.
In another incident, a woman, Rashmita Patra, of Kumbharbasta village in the district has lodged a complaint with the Khordha police alleging that some associates of Begunia BJD MLA Rajendra Sahu brutally assaulted her husband on Thursday, following which her husband was admitted to the Sri Hospital for treatment.
