Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) will soon get COVID-19 test laboratory. On the initiative of Deputy Commissioner Bokaro Mukesh Kumar, the administration is working on war footing basis to establish a Coronavirus testing lab at BGH, informed A K Pathak Civil Surgeon Bokaro.
“On this move latest equipment are being installed at BGH on behalf of the district administration. Machinery, equipment is being purchased from DMFT Fund,” added Pathak.
District administration and BGH management will jointly establish this RTPCR lab in a bid to check for coronavirus infection. After the establishment of this lab the COVID-19 test will be accelerated, he said.
A Consultant of Panel Agency for Viral Lab Development, led by Meenakshi Kumar has visited the proposed site at BGH. After observing all aspects of the team, the road map was placed before the Deputy Commissioner.
Bokaro is the second township where SAIL has joined hands with a state government to test samples for Covid-19. Earlier SAIL along with the Odisha government set up a COVID-19 testing laboratory at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela. Beside others Civil Surgeon Bokaro, Sub-Divisional Officer Chas Shashi Prakash Singh, Director Bokaro General Hospital, Dr. AK Singh, District Epidemiologist Pawan Kumar Srivastava, doctors of BGH and Sadar Hospitals were present during the site inspection.
