Biggest daily jump of 826 Covid cases in State

A record 826 cases of Covid-19 was detected in State on Friday, the single day highest increase, pushing the total Covid cases crossing 11300, as per State government health bulletin. On Friday, 826 cases were reported including 824 active cases, while two persons died due to infection.

“Friday recorded the single day highest increase in cases. More cases are reported as we are conducting more tests. Only two deaths were reported,” said a health department official.

With the report of 824 cases on Friday the total number of active cases in Jharkhand has gone up to 6894. While on one hand the number of active cases in State is growing at fast speed the recovery rate in State in past fortnight has gone down. On Friday as per health bulletin, only 138 people recovered from infection.

The total number of recovered persons is 4,314. The number of deaths is 106 since the pandemic broke out on March 31 this year.

District-wise, Ranchi tops with 2039 cases, while in Ranchi 24 person have died due to infection which includes one death on Friday.

As many as 83 cases were detected while 29 persons recovered from infection on Friday. At the same time one person died due to infection on Friday. The cases were reported from Doranda, Ratu Road, Dhurwa, Kanke Road and Judges Colony.

Followed by Ranchi, the maximum cases is in East Singhbhum where number of Covid cases is 1,847. On Friday, 70 cases were reported while 21 recovered from infection. In Dhanbad the number of cases is 513 which include 299 active cases, 201 recovered and 13 deaths. The Jharkhand Government on Thursday extended the lockdown restrictions due to Covid-19 outside the containment zones till August 31.

An official notification also issued directions to departments concerned for strict implementation of guidelines and State directives on Covid-19.

According to the measures, in case of home quarantine, home visits will be made randomly to check the status of compliance of instructions.
