The BJP led opposition has planned a joint offensive against the government to corner in the Assembly on the issues of land mutation bill, deteriorating law and order situation in the State and other issues.

The BJP legislative party meeting headed by legislative leader, Babulal Marandi was held at Marandi's Dibdih residence. The BJP lawmakers discussed strategy for the monsoon session.

The BJP has decided to strongly protest the land mutation Bill. Marandi, chairing the legislative party meet said that BJP will oppose land mutation bill as it is against tribals and moolvasi. Marandi said, “The bill is an attempt to provide immunity to revenue officials from legal consequences and making the state an easy hunting ground for land mafia.”

He said that the bill would facilitate land grabbing and encourage corruption.

Marandi claimed that the law will provide protection to corrupt officials and land mafia and be unfair to the common public.

The State Cabinet has okayed land mutation bill which aimed at making jamabandi claims online and setting up of competent authorities for settlement of claims at district level.

BJP legislator from Rajmahal Anant Ojha said the party will stage a protest from Sadan to Sadak on this issue.

The MLA also said that apart from land mutation bill, the party will also raise poor law and order situation in the State. Ojha said that Left Wing Extremist activities in the State have gained momentum in the State in the past few months. The LWE menace in Raghubar Das government was controlled, but extremist activities are once again getting pace.

The BJP is also going to raise a lack of employment opportunities in the State especially not renewing the contract of contractual employees.

Suspending developmental works initiated by Raghubar Das government too will be a key issue raised by BJP members.

Speaker delaying the process for granting leader of opposition status to Marandi too will be raised at the monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly.
