BJP holds ‘Chunavi Chaupal’ to woo women voters in Bermo

Monday, 19 October 2020 | SURESH NIKHAR | BERMO

District Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have launched a special campaign to woo the Bermo voters by holding a series of ‘Chunavi Chaupal’ wherein they are apprising Bermo voters about the various initiatives taken by the former Raghubar Das-led government.

Local leaders at panchayat levels have shown great synergy in organising such chaupals and response from Bermo coal field voters to this series of ‘Chunavi Chaupal’ has been overwhelming, said Bharat Yadav district president of Bokaro unit of BJP, a key functionary of the ‘Chaupal.

Chaupal’ is a popular concept in Bermo  where in people, both men and women, gather in an open community space and hold deliberations on regular issues.

BJP’s national vice president and former chief minister Raghubar Das on Sunday was in Bokaro Thermal for a campaign for Yogeshwar Mahato in the Bermo Assembly by-election.

He was addressing a Mahila Chaupal organised at the BJP office ground of BokaroThermal. He also stated that the Hemant Soren government is “Nikkami (useless)” and that it’s every lie is coming out.

Das said that the development of the country and the state is not possible until the women power comes forward. Over 13,000 girls have been raped and murdered during the ten months of the state government, he said.  The easiest way for the government to respond to wrong policies is to vote against it, added Das.

In the BJP government, there was a property registry in the name of a woman for only one rupee, which was stopped by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha government.  During the tenure of BJP, a total of 585 women of Bermo assembly constituency have registered property for one rupee, said Ex CM.

Ex CM said the JMM Congress government is anti-farmer and has worked to stop the beneficial scheme BJP had been running for the farmer.  The present government said that 13,000 people will be given employment, but till date 13 people have not got employment.  The BJP government operated Sukanya scheme and also stopped it.

While appointment of eight thousand teachers was done during the tenure of the BJP government, the sons of tribal natives of the village were made daroga, said Das.
